Terrain and Climate of Robben Island

Robben Island is low-lying with the highest point being 24 meters above sea level, also known as Minto's Hill, named after a nineteenth-century Surgeon-Superintendent of the General Infirmary.

The Mediterranean climate is similar to that of Cape Town, warm, dry and windy during summer months (September – April), occasional rain and cooler daytime temperatures during the winter months (May – August).
